WELCOME TO THE WEBSITE OF THE NATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR CONCILIATION AND ARBITRATION
The National Institute for Conciliation and Arbitration is created with the 2001 Amendment of the Settlement of Collective Labor Disputes Act. It is registered as a legal entity having its seat in Sofia, ranked as a Executive Agency. The Institute is a second-level budget-spending unit with the Minister of Labour and Social Policy.
The National Institute for Conciliation and Arbitration is based on a tripartite principle. The managing bodies of the Institute are Supervisory Board and Director. The Supervisory Board includes representatives of the state, the nationally represented employers’ organizations and trade unions. The Director accomplishes the operational management of the National Institute for Conciliation and Arbitration and represents it.
The activities, staff, structure, functions and organization of the National Institute for Conciliation and Arbitration are stipulated in the RULES of Organization and Procedure of the National Institute for Conciliation and Arbitration.
36 mediators and 36 arbitrators at the National Institute for Conciliation and Arbitration, selected by proposal of the social partners, are approved by the Supervisory Board under initially adopted criteria.
