About us
The National Institute for Conciliation and Arbitration (NICA) is established with amendment and supplement to the Collective Labour Disputes Settlement Act of 2001. NICA is created on a tripartite basis. Governing bodies of the Institute are the Supervisory Board and the Director. The Supervisory Board includes two representatives from representative organizations of employers, representative organizations of workers and employees and the State. The Director is a member of the Supervisory Board by law and represents the National Institute for Conciliation and Arbitration.
The activities, staff number, structure and work organization of the Institute have been set by the Regulations for the Structure and Activities of the National Institute for Conciliation and Arbitration and approved by the Minister of Labor and Social Policy. Mediation and arbitration procedures are the main activity of NICA and they have been regulated by the Rules of the National Institute for Conciliation and Arbitration for Mediation and Arbitration for the Settlement of Collective Labour Disputes. Mediators and arbitrators are selected on a proposal of the representative organizations of workers and employees, employers' representative organizations and on the State.

COLLECTIVE LABOUR AGREEMENTS AND COLLECTIVE LABOUR DISPUTES DATABASE
NICA has established and maintains an integrated database of Collective Labour Agreements (CLA) and Collective Labour Disputes (CLD). This section contains statistical information about the processes of collective bargaining in the Republic of Bulgaria and information on CLD occurred on the territory of the country.
